Bitcoin Marathon & Festival 2025 Gets Official Green Light

Chiang Mai’s PAO approves landmark Bitcoin event merging sport, innovation, and financial inclusion during Loy Krathong 2025.

Chiang Mai, Thailand – The highly anticipated Bitcoin Half Marathon & Bitcoin Thailand Festival 2025 has been officially approved by Chiang Mai’s Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO), which is responsible for local governance, marking a significant milestone for Thailand’s Bitcoin and running communities. Set to take place on November 1-2, 2025, the event will be held in collaboration with PAO Park and Jog and Joy Thailand, one of the country’s most experienced race organisers with over 30 years of expertise and 870 successful events

The Bitcoin Marathon, themed “Run For Freedom”, is expected to attract over 3,000 participants, making it one of Thailand’s most exciting running events. Simultaneously, the Bitcoin Thailand Festival will take place at the newly developed PAO Park, which boasts a capacity of over 25,000 guests. The festival partner projects attendance to exceed 10,000 festival-goers over the two-day event.

This groundbreaking festival coincides with Loy Krathong, Chiang Mai’s famous lantern festival, which annually draws over 50,000 visitors to the city. By aligning with this major cultural event, the Bitcoin Thailand Festival will further enhance Chiang Mai’s reputation as a hub for digital innovation and economic growth.

The Bitcoin Festival by Bitcoin Chiang Mai will bring together a diverse and forward-thinking audience of 18-60-year-olds, including professionals, students, athletes, business owners, educators, technologists, and industry leaders. This event serves as a unique intersection of local Thai Bitcoin and digital innovation enthusiasts, expats, and international visitors, fostering dialogue and collaboration in an era of financial transformation. With a strong presence of individuals who drive trends, invest in innovation, and actively shape digital finance, the festival offers sponsors an unmatched opportunity to connect with a highly engaged and influential demographic.

At its core, the festival is committed to financial literacy, inclusion, and empowerment, featuring interactive workshops, expert-led discussions, and educational sessions designed to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to navigate Bitcoin and digital financial ecosystems. By expanding access to financial education and fostering practical engagement with emerging financial technologies, the event aims to bridge knowledge gaps, empower underserved communities, and contribute to long-term economic resilience

Further elevating its significance, the Bitcoin Marathon & Festival 2025 coincides with Thailand’s Bitcoin Sandbox and Stablecoins Initiative, which is primarily overseen by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand, in collaboration with the Bank of Thailand (BOT). This innovative initiative, set to launch in October 2025, will integrate Bitcoin and stablecoins into the Thai economy in a controlled and regulated manner. Phuket will serve as the initial testing ground, where businesses and consumers can experiment with cryptocurrency transactions, particularly in the tourism sector. Backed by former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the sandbox aims to attract tech-savvy tourists and digital nomads, enabling them to spend Bitcoin and stablecoins on goods, services, and even high-value purchases such as real estate.

The sandbox will operate under a regulatory framework, allowing Thailand to test these innovations while ensuring financial stability. If successful, this initiative could position Thailand as a leader in Southeast Asia’s digital asset landscape

With strong local government support and world-class event partners, the Bitcoin Marathon & Festival 2025 is set to become a landmark event for Thailand and Southeast Asia. For sponsorship and participation inquiries, visit www.BitcoinMarathon.org or contact Info@BitcoinChiangMai.org.
